AUBURN, Ala. – Junior shortstop Luke Jarvis hit a 3-run double in the sixth inning and Auburn held on for a 4-3 series-clinching win over George Washington Sunday at Plainsman Park.
“I’m just thankful for the grind, thankful for another one-run game going into the ninth,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. “I was uncharacteristic, a lot more vocal today with our guys, but this is what we’ve got to do to keep growing, is pushing these moments. We had a couple of really good moments to end innings.”
Jarvis came through in the clutch with Auburn trailing 2-1 as be battled for the go-ahead double with two outs and a full count.
