AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn All-American Lee DeFore, who became the first Tiger to score 1,000 career points, will be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on May 13.
DeFore was a three-time All-SEC selection from 1964-66 and had set nine school scoring records when he was drafted by the NBA’s New York Knicks in the fourth round following the 1965-66 season, in which he was a Helms Athletic Foundation All-American.
The Atlanta, Ga., native still ranks 16th on Auburn’s all-time scoring chart with 1,386 points and led the SEC in scoring as a senior averaging 23.
