OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Auburn softball infielder Kasey Cooper has earned a spot on the 2017 USA Women’s National Team, USA Softball announced Friday. Cooper is one of 20 to make the team after a camp was held in Clearwater, Fla. over the past week.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to, first of all, play with the best,” said Cooper. “[The Selection Camp] was awesome down there. Every inning there was a great play. There were no average plays; it was all great.”
Selected by members of the Women's National Team Selection Committee (WNTSC), Cooper and the other athletes were chosen after a four-day selection process of 40 athletes.
