Josh Donaldson understands failure, so he’s succeeding at an All-Star level

Eight years ago, the Chicago Cubs selected Auburn catcher Josh Donaldson with the 48th pick in the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Four years ago, the former Faith Academy All-State baseball and football star appeared headed toward “Quadruple-A” status – a player too good for the top rung of the minor leagues but with a borderline chance of holding on to a Major League roster spot. On Tuesday night, Donaldson will start at third base for the American League in the All-Star Game for the second year in a row.
