If Auburn's A-Day scrimmage is the start of the Jeremy Johnson era, the junior quarterback's much-anticipated ascension has begun with a bang.
Despite a slow start for the Tigers' No. 1 offense, Johnson got his big-play arm working in the second quarter and showcased an explosive vertical passing game as Team Auburn beat Team Tigers 24-14 in Auburn's A-Day game.
For the most part, Team Auburn was built of players expected to be at the top of the depth chart; Team Tigers appeared to be the No. 2 unit on both sides of the ball. Both teams were depleted by injury; Gus Malzahn held at least eight players out for one reason or the other.
