Has there ever been an SEC season where only one team has finished with more than eight wins since the conference split into divisions? Every year the conference beats up on each other but 2016 seem to have had more self inflicted wounds than usual.
For example, Auburn lost early to Texas A&M 29-16, then beat Arkansas 56-3 who wound up beating the Aggies 45-24. The league cannibalism led to an 8-4 team having to represent the SEC in the Sugar Bowl against No.7 Oklahoma.
Teams with four losses don’t usually go to a New Year’s bowl.
