AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn’s victory over Ole Miss was the Tigers’ fifth in a row, and Auburn now is starting to be taken seriously as a real threat in the SEC West.
Auburn’s success has been predicated on a power running game and a stout defense. The rushing attack was executed beautifully against Ole Miss, as the Tigers racked up 326 rushing yards. But the defense didn’t really show up until the third quarter.
Ole Miss led 22-20 at halftime and rolled up 351 first-half yards. But the Rebels managed just seven points and 219 yards in the second half.
