In a time when college coaches tend to steal the spotlight – jumping up and down on the sidelines, screaming at anyone who will listen – Auburn women’s equestrian head coach Greg Williams is an anomaly. He watches his team calmly, never showing his emotions whether things are going great or terrible. He smiles at little kids wearing cowboy hats, never once glaring if a rider makes a mistake. He is even known to talk to fans during meets.
Don’t let the exterior fool you, though, as Williams’ fire, dedication, and coaching has turned Auburn into a powerhouse in women’s equestrian.
