Alabama Governor Robert Bentley announced that he would be creating a new Advisory Council for electronic gaming in order to help progress the state’s gaming laws.
“The subject of gaming in Alabama has been the subject of dispute and controversy in Alabama for years,” said Bently, who went on to tell reporters “…a considerable amount of time, a considerable amount of money has been spent dealing with this issue. This issue is not going away.”
As a solution, Bentley will be appointing seven members of the eleven-member council. Five members will be personal appointees courtesy of Bentley, House Speaker Mac McCutcheon will appoint four, one will be a member of the Alabama Sherriff’s Association, and one will be a representative from the Alabama District Attorney’s Association.
