Auburn running back Peyton Barber rushed for 1,017 yards and 13 TDs in 2015, yet numerous observers were surprised that he left school after his redshirt sophomore season to enter the NFL draft.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Barber said one reason he did so was that his mother was homeless. Actually, she isn’t homeless, but she does rely on relatives for a residence. And Barber’s forthrightness and stoic nature in the face of a tough upbringing remove any question about his character.
