Freshman Ben Schlottman might only be in his first year, but he's already taken control of the Auburn men's golf team.
Schlottman carded an 8-under par to finish in second place at the SEC Championships on Sunday, leading the No. 6 Tigers into a tie for fourth place with Alabama.
Auburn (275-276-282) has been ranked in the top 10 most of the season, but the Tigers faced a loaded field that No. 9 LSU dominated, finishing 15-under to win the SEC title. No. 4 Vanderbilt and No. 8 South Carolina finished three strokes back in second place, and the Tigers and Crimson Tide were five strokes back of those two teams.
