KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Freshman right-hander Davis Daniel pitched a career-best eight shutout innings as No. 10 Auburn baseball took the series over Tennessee with a 8-1 win Saturday at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
“We had some really good at-bats once we got the lead,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. “We used our [bullpen] arms on Thursday and they used theirs yesterday. We kind of out-lasted them. We played a well-rounded game. I think Davis Daniel’s eight innings, really that’s as good of a start as we’ve had this year. He’s been money for us on a couple of Sundays, a couple of game threes.
