Former Auburn basketball star Wes Flanigan is now a Trojan, as the University of Arkansas-Little Rock has hired Flanigan to be their new head basketball coach, replacing Chris Beard who left to fill the same position at UNLV.
Flanigan, a native of Little Rock, will be taking over a team that went 30-5 this past season, winning its first outright Sun Belt Championship, and upset No. 5 Purdue as a 12-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
“As someone who was born and raised in Little Rock, this is a dream come true,” Flanigan said, according to a news release.
