Former Auburn star Quentin Groves, school’s all-time sacks leader, dead at 32

Former Auburn defensive end and linebacker Quentin Groves has died. He was 32 years old.

Auburn announced Saturday afternoon that the former Tigers star passed away in his sleep. USA TODAY’s Luke Easterling reported that Groves suffered a heart attack.

Groves was in Trinidad, one of the two main islands that makes up the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago, at the time of his death. His wife, Treska Baptiste, a former member of the Auburn track team, is from the island.

Groves, who played at Auburn from 2003-07, was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2006 and tied as the school’s all-time sacks leader with 26.
