True freshman safety Tim Irvin, a native of Miami, fell in love with Auburn during a campus visit in January 2015. The visit must have went well, because Irvin never left, and for Auburn's defense, that is a blessing. Irvin enrolled at Auburn during the Spring 2015 semester and went through spring practice with the Tigers.
Irvin became the first Auburn freshman defender to start the season opener since Daren Bates in 2009. He had four tackles and a pass breakup in his debut against Louisville, and will look to continue to be an integral part of Will Muschamp's defense for the remainder of the season.
