AUBURN, Ala. u2015 Auburn's Gus Malzahn knows a lot about quarterbacks Jeremy Johnson and Sean White, but not so much John Franklin III.
He tried to learn more about his transfer quarterback Saturday.
Franklin was live in Saturday's mini-scrimmage, and thus eligible to be hit, while veterans Johnson and White wore non-contact orange jerseys.
Malzahn said Franklin did well.
"We just felt like it was important one more time to see how he can protect the football, just let him make some plays with his feet.
