It’s the type of “gotcha” query reporters sometimes offer, knowing fully that any candid response could threaten to divide a locker room, setting up the subject for future awkwardness with teammates and coaches.
Davis, a senior receiver, hesitated for a second, before skillfully redirecting the conversation by saying each of Auburn’s three returning candidates brings unique strengths to the competition.
Through hundreds of questions in 11 sessions over two-and-a-half hours, Davis handled himself like the veteran he is.
