While Alabama running back Derek Henry was winning the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, Auburn was handing out its team awards for the year. Place kicker Daniel Carlson was the biggest winner of the night as he was named the overall Player of the Year, as well as the special team’s player of the year. Carlson just missed out on winning the Lou Groza award earlier in the week.
Sophomore running back Peyton Barber was named the team’s Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 976 yards on 226 carries and scoring 13 touchdowns. He also hauled in 10 catches for 109 yards.
