When Blake Burgess moved from the offensive line to a tight end and fullback for the 2012 Auburn football team, he had no idea it could end up being the move that may change his life. A theatre major while at Auburn, Burgess is now one of the lead actors in “Woodlawn,” a film based on the true story of a high school football team that endured through racial tensions in early 1970s Birmingham.
Burgess came to Auburn as a walk-on in 2009, the grandson of Bill Burgess, a fullback at Auburn in 1960, and the son of Rick Burgess, co-host of the popular syndicated morning radio show ‘Rick & Bubba.
