Auburn Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn and Tigers legend Bo Jackson earned $45,000 in scholarship and charity from the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament last week. The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl will split Team Auburn’s winnings equally between Open Hands Overflowing Hearts and an endowed scholarship at Auburn University.
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s $22,500 will support Open Hands Overflowing Hearts’ mission of raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research. The foundation was created by Auburn University student Kayla Perry, who, after being diagnosed with high-risk stage IV neuroblastoma, discovered that less than 4% of all government funding goes to pediatric cancer research.
