AUBURN, Ala. u2015 Auburn's Cassanova McKinzy continued to receive preseason acclaim Tuesday, landing a spot on the watch lists for two prestigious national awards while seeing teammates Avery Young, Kris Frost and Carl Lawson win recognition, too.
McKinzy appeared on the watch lists Tuesday for the Lombardi Award, which goes to the nation's best lineman or linebacker; and the Butkus Award, which goes to the nation's top linebacker. He's on the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which was announced last week.
Frost, McKinzy's linebacker mate, also appears on the watch list for the Butkus Award, as does lineman Carl Lawson, who will assume a new role by playing outside linebacker on occasion.
