Friday was Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, meaning six more weeks of winter.
For college football fans, though, there will be another Groundhog Day – February 7, which is National Signing Day. That’s because the same schools are going to reel in highly ranked recruiting classes. It never really changes.
Consider that in the past five recruiting classes (2013-17, using the 247Sports Composite rankings):
• Four schools have ranked in the top 10 in each year: Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Ohio State.
• Three other schools have ranked in the top 10 in four years: Florida state, Georgia and USC.
