Both Auburn and Alabama have taken heat over the perceived leniency granted to players caught with marijuana and in Alabama’s case, also firearms. Did both schools go easy because of what the early season schedule looks like?
It certainly appears that way – in both cases. Auburn famously suspended Nick Marshall for a half following a drug arrest in the summer of 2014. This go around, when Auburn football players Byron Cowart, Carlton Davis, Ryan Davis and Jeremiah Dinson were picked up on marijuana charges, the players were disciplined in house and the case was closed.
Last week Nick Saban famously admonished talking head, Paul Finebaum for daring to question why he wasn’t planning on suspending All-SEC offensive left tackle Cameron Robinson and reserve Hootie Jones after they were arrested for possessing a firearm and a few joints.
