Brown (6 feet 4, 317 pounds), from Buford (Ga.) Lanier, picked the Tigers over Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
New Georgia coach Kirby Smart did his part in trying to land Brown, taking a helicopter to Brown’s high school last week to make a last-second pitch.
Brown is Auburn’s top signee and gives the Tigers an up-front building block for a defense that needs to improve.
Brown is an impressive athlete for a prospect of his size and should develop into a disruptive force for Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who was the Tigers’ main recruiter on Brown.
