AUBURN, Ala. – Jarrett Stidham’s 50-yard pass to Darius Slayton gave Auburn more than just a touchdown lead right before the end of the first half Saturday.
It also provided the Tigers a sigh of relief they carried into halftime of their eventual 42-14 win over UL-Monroe at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
“That was a big one right here,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said. “Probably the biggest drive.”
Stidham and Slayton have connected on 11 plays of at least 20 yards this season, with two (50, 21) coming in Saturday’s non-conference victory.
Four of those 11 hookups have resulted in touchdowns.
