Daniel Carlson was a finalist last season but ultimately fell to Ka'imi Fairbairn of UCLA.
This year, it's a similar story, as Arizona State's Zane Gonzalez walked away with the award given to the nation's best kicker.
It was a close race, but ultimately Arizona State kicker Zane Gonzalez had better makes/attempt numbers. Although they were equaled out when you take into account Carlson's two blocked kicks, Gonzalez just still had the better overall season. Gonzalez had more FGs made from 40+ and 50+ and seemed to be the likely candidate to win.
Georgia Southern's Younghoe (Young-hway) Koo was the third finalist.
