AUBURN, Ala. – A day after being named the SEC Pitcher of the Week, Casey Mize has also been tabbed the National Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Perfect Game/Rawlings.
Mize is the first Auburn player to earn a national weekly honor since Hunter Morris was named the NCBWA National Player of the Week on Mar. 22, 2010. Mize was also one of nine players named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper National Player of the Week.
The Springville, Ala., native dazzled in a 6-0 win against the Huskies en route to securing the Tigers’ first no-hitter since nine pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter against UAB on Mar.
