Casey Mize Becomes Auburn’s Second Two-Time All-American

AUBURN, Ala. – Junior right-hander Casey Mize was named a First Team All-American by Baseball America and Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Thursday afternoon, making him the second two-time All-American in program history.

Mize, who was named an All-American by three different publications including Baseball America a year ago, joins former Auburn hurler Gregg Olson as the program’s only other two-time All-American. Olson earned the honors in 1987 and 1988.

In 15 starts this season, Mize has posted a 9-5 record and a 3.07 ERA. His 140 strikeouts not only lead the SEC and rank third in the country, but are also the fifth most in a single-season in program history and the most since 1999.
