Division II West Georgia has announced the hiring of former Auburn running back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams as a graduate assistant coach who will help oversee the running backs.
Williams played at Auburn from 2001-04. He rushed for 3,831 yards and 45 touchdowns. He was a first-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft, along with backfield mate Ronnie Brown, and played seven seasons in the NFL.
Williams, who turned 34 on Thursday, was named the AP Rookie of the Year in 2005 with Tampa Bay.
West Georgia coach Will Hall, 35, is considered an up-and-comer in the coaching ranks.
