Countess was not considered as someone to be drafted early on, but an impressive Pro Day where he ran a 4.46 40-yard-dash, had a vertical leap of 36.5 and a broad jump of 10-foot-1 was enough to impress the Eagles.
At 5-foot-9, 184 pounds Countess will likely compete for the nickel position in the Eagles secondary, but he will have a chance to play cornerback as well.
Right now the only sure thing in the Philadelphia secondary is Eric Rowe. Outside of him there are about 10 guys competing for five or six spots left in the secondary.
