AUBURN, Ala. – Daniel Robert had four hits and three RBI and Gabe Klobosits pitched seven innings with eight strikeouts out of the bullpen as Auburn baseball defeated No. 2 Texas A&M 9-7 at Plainsman Park.
The win gave Auburn a split of the SEC-opening doubleheader after Friday’s scheduled opener was rained out. The two clubs will complete the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
“This is probably the proudest I have been of our baseball team,” Auburn head coach Butch Thompson said. “I thought our guys battled all day. Gabe Klobosits had one run in seven innings and that’s what it took to beat a team like this.
