New bed, new friends, new city, new surroundings. It’s my second week here in Columbia, Missouri, and while the transition has been surprisingly smooth, it only feels temporary. As if it’s a summer camp of sorts, and I’ll be able to be back in my Atlanta home in a week’s time. But it’s not temporary — aside from the occasional visit back home during holidays, this is now my home.
Swapping the orange and blue for black and gold feels unnatural — almost sacrilegious. I’ve known Auburn’s fight song by heart since the age of 3 — now I’m unable to even sing the tune of Mizzou’s.
