Auburn’s secondary is certainly not immune to that.
Safety Tray Matthews and cornerback Joshua Holsey were both in orange no-contact jerseys during Tuesday’s practice, but both are expected to play during A-Day on Saturday, according to Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn. The two both got banged up during the team’s second scrimmage of spring this past weekend at Jordan-Hare Stadium, but neither injury should be cause for concern.
“(They) got a little nagged up Saturday. They should be OK,” Malzahn said. “We’re just trying to be smart with them and get them to Saturday.”
Those two are just the latest members of Auburn’s secondary to deal with injuries this spring.
