Auburn's Malzahn visor-free to honor Spurrier

Gus Malzahn, who says he has worn a visor every game he's coached since his days at the helm in high school, went without one Thursday night when Auburn played Kentucky to honor his friend and longtime SEC coach Steve Spurrier.

The Head Ball Coach retired from South Carolina this week.

"Coach Spurrier is one of the all-time greats and his influence on me and my coaching style goes back to my days as a high school coach when I started wearing a visor," Malzahn said in a news relase. "I'm very appreciative for everything he's done for me and the game of football.
