Auburn wide receiver Duke Williams, who was kicked off the team five games into the 2015 season, expressed remorse Thursday over how his career ended when he met with the media at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Williams told reporters he knew he put coach Gus Malzahn in a bad position by getting into trouble. He was dismissed after a fight at an Auburn, Ala., bar.
“I regret the fight,” Williams said. “Malzahn, he gave me chance after chance. It’s not his fault. It’s my fault because I should’ve learned. He took a chance on me. And I hurt the Auburn family by getting dismissed.
