Auburn’s final home game of the season featured a lopsided matchup against FCS opponent Alabama A&M. Auburn won 55-0 for its first shutout since 2008.
Here are some takeaways from the Tigers’ “Senior Day” win.
Auburn did what it needed to do
A blowout was expected and a blowout is exactly what happened at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The defense finally got a shutout after playing at a dominant level all season. Auburn outgained Alabama A&M 598-130. After jumping a big early lead, the Tigers rested the starters – the ones that weren’t already banged up – and got to play most of the roster in the fourth quarter, rewarding the backups who have contributed in practice.
