Auburn softball discovered its fate earlier tonight as the NCAA Softball Selection Show revealed the Tigers’ destination for the NCAA Tournament.
Auburn and head coach Mickey Dean will make the short ride to Tallahassee for Regional play next weekend. The Tigers earned the 9-seed in the SEC Tournament but fell in the opening round to Alabama, 6-4, on Wednesday night in Columbia, Missouri.
This will be the first year since 2014 that Auburn will not be hosting a regional. That season, the Tigers just missed out on hosting, instead visiting 16-seed Minnesota and falling in the Minneapolis Regional.
