In 2016, 4* WR Seth Williams looked like a lock to Alabama. The big bodied wideout from Cottondale, AL landed his first offer April 16th, 2016 from the Alabama Crimson Tide. He almost committed on the spot. Thankfully, he didn’t and Auburn jumped into the race a month later. It still looked unlikely that the Tigers had any real shot though at landing the stud WR. In January 2017, it looked like Williams was about to pull the trigger, reportedly to Florida State but once again decided to hold off.
Throughout the ups and downs of Williams’s recruitment, Auburn never gave up.
