Cord Sandberg announced on Twitter on Monday that he committed to Auburn. The former 4-star quarterback recruit out of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla., signed with Mississippi State out of high school, but opted for professional baseball after being drafted in the third round of the MLB draft in 2013 by the Philadelphia Phillies.
He spent 2013 through 2018 in the minor leagues.
Sandberg chose Auburn over LSU and N.C. State and will enroll immediately as a member of the 2018 Auburn recruiting class. He will have four seasons of eligibility.
Absolutely humbled to have been given the opportunity to pursue a childhood dream of mine.
