Auburn visited the Missouri Tigers in a Saturday night matchup on ESPN2, showcasing an up and coming program against a perennially good Missouri team. Missouri (8 – 7) hasn’t been the team they would like to be to its fans dismay, looking to basketball season after a dreadful football season. The Tigers from Columbia were destroyed by Georgia just before taking on Auburn. In their only common opponent, Xavier, Missouri was soundly whipped 78-66.
The game started out chippy, as Wes Clark instigated Auburn’s Kareem Canty to a shouting match, which led to off-setting technical fouls at the 13-minute mark.
