Auburn football legend Cam Newton has a “unique case” to make the College Football Hall of Fame whenever his name hits the ballot according to the Montgomery Advertiser’s Richard Silva due to both his lack of longevity as a star at the collegiate level and sheer dominance in his championship season under center in 2010.
“Newton started one year in FBS,” Silva prefaced before saying, “Each of the 10 former FBS quarterbacks on the 2024 ballot were starters for multiple seasons at their respective schools, though Newton is a unique case as many credit him with having one of the best, if not the the best, seasons of all time in 2010.
