What seemed like a near-endless search for Jay Jacobs’ successor as athletic director has come to a close. Allen Greene, the current athletic director at Buffalo, will be the new hire.
Greene is one of the youngest athletic directors in the country, and he’ll turn 41 at the beginning of April. He attended Notre Dame in the mid-1990s and played baseball for the Fighting Irish for two years. After a short minor-league baseball career, he went to work in the athletic department at Ole Miss, where he was an assistant athletic director from 2009-2012. He was a huge player in the fundraising game, helping Ole Miss complete a $150 million capital campaign, the largest in school history.
