Auburn hires Missouri’s Greg Brown as new secondary coach

Auburn has hired Greg Brown to become its new secondary coach, the school announced Saturday night.

Brown, 59, replaces Wesley McGriff, who held the position along with his duties as co-defensive coordinator for one season before leaving to become Ole Miss’ defensive coordinator last month.

“I’m excited to welcome Greg Brown, who is one of the best defensive backs coach in all of football to our staff at Auburn,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said in a statement. “Greg has coached three Thorpe Award winners and has a strong proven track record of developing players at both the college and professional level.
