For the second time in just over two years, Jay Jacobs has reached out to Arizona State for a head coach. Two years ago it was softball coach Clint Myers. Today, it's women's golf coach Melissa Luellen.
The news was first broken this morning by WarBlogle, who pointed to an article in Golf Week that Luellen was expected to be named the Tigers' head coach.
Luellen brings a successful resume to the Plains. She led the Sun Devils to the NCAA Championship in 2009. In nine of her thirteen years at Arizona State, her teams finished in the Top 10.
