It’s no secret that the Auburn faithful have latched on to coach Bruce Pearl. His infectious personality has created a buzz around the basketball program for the first time I can remember since I was in high school. He can frequently be seen at football games, on ESPN hyping Auburn, or any of another handful of venues.
But, while Auburn sold out of basketball tickets and filled the arena in 2015, the Tigers stumbled to a 15-20 record. Much of the story remained the same: Auburn finished with only four regular season SEC wins to fourteen losses, still couldn’t beat ex-coach Cliff Ellis nor could the Tigers beat Alabama.
