That’s certainly the case this week with Auburn facing Alabama State on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
But there’s also those two ugly games in recent seasons against FCS teams that sneak into your thoughts. You don’t want to think about them. No one does. But they’re not going away and that’s probably a good thing. Those two games (2015 vs. Jacksonville State and 2017 vs. Mercer) serve as reminders that nothing is guaranteed.
In 2015 against Jacksonville State, Auburn scored with 39 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. The Tigers won in overtime, 27-20, but the damage was done.
