Fall camp is finally here for the Auburn football program. After a grueling offseason that saw head coach Hugh Freeze and his new staff hustling on the recruiting trail, they will now turn their attention to getting the roster ready for the 2023 season.
Earlier this week, we at Fly War Eagle detailed a few questions that the Tigers will need to answer by the end of fall camp, and one of those questions centered around who will be the starting quarterback in Freeze’s first year on the Plains.
While Robby Ashford is entering Auburn football fall camp as the returning starter, many believe that former Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne is bound to win the battle for QB1 due to his proven experience and also because he was handpicked out of the transfer portal by Coach Freeze.
