There were stories that Golloway's tenure at Auburn had run its course and that he may be fired "with cause." AD Jay Jacobs confirmed this in his statement on the official site. Jacobs said "I regret to announce that earlier today I dismissed Auburn head baseball coach Sunny Golloway with cause. My commitment will always be to provide the best student-athlete experience in the nation, and we will not accept anything less.”
