Auburn Fined $100k for Court Storming After Upset of Kentucky

This is Auburn’s second offense after students and fans also stormed the field following Auburn football’s victory over Alabama that featured the “Kick Six.” This was the first court storming in Auburn Arena and the first for Auburn basketball since 2001 when Auburn defeated Alabama 72-69 in overtime on Reggie Sharp’s 36-foot buzzer beater.

The fine came as no surprise to Auburn staff, and they were aware of the amount before the events took place. As a leader of The Jungle, Auburn’s basketball student section, we were told towards the end of the game to try to prevent a court storming.
