Today the No.7 Auburn Tigers begin fall camp. Of course, none of us know if the Tigers are really the No.7 team in the nation or for that matter if Ohio State is truly No.1. All we know is everyone starts out undefeated. And everyone has high hopes.
The truth is, at this point unranked teams have as much chance as playing for the national championship as the pre season ranked teams do. A 3-9 Auburn proved that in 2013. Preseason rankings are based in large part on two things: the previous year’s record and the talent on a team’s roster.
